"Hi! My name is pk mutch (call me pk).  I founded the Tiny Feminist Lab Project late 2026. Yeah, I lead and run this sole proprietorship, But I don't work alone. Here is a bit more about me.

I am a cis, White, child immigrant to Canada from Germany, Mom to a 25 year old daughter, friend, colleague, mentor, creator, critical thinker, class migrant, and partner to Greg, a professional musician, producer and founder of Harlow Sound Studios.

​

I have a varied professional background which includes 18 years in publishing (New York and Toronto)  working my up from sales rep to President (McGrawhill-Ryerson Higher Ed), 10 years in the dairy industry as startup to mid size, multi award-winning, eco artisan cheese entrepreneur (Fifth Town Cheese, Prince Edward County) and 7 years as founder/publisher of a award winning feminist digital media enterprise (www.liisbeth.com). My educational background includes B.A. Honours from Carleton University (Journalism/Mass Comm) and an MBA from Rotman School of Management.  I recently started on a slow PhD in Management journey at the University of Guelph where I also serve as adjunct faculty teaching entrepreneurship and innovation courses. I am a published writer.  I was recognized as one of Canada's 150 Women Leaders, Champions and Luminaries, and a Top 50 Women in STEM for my work in food/dairy industry. 

 

I have identified as a feminist since the age of 13. My feminism is always learning, intersectional, international. My theoretical standpoint is rooted in democratic socialist, Marxist feminisms. 

 

After 15 years of working in progressive spaces, I think we need more feminist discourse, joyous in person gatherings, debate / learning spaces and cross progressive movement collaboration--if we truly want to change how we, and our future ancestors, experience life on the planet. 

 

So it was time to act. This is how the Tiny Feminist Collab Lab was born.

My career/capitalist professional background includes a series of professional journeys including becoming an award-winning social entrepreneur in the food space, feminist digital media publisher, plus independent creator, activist, writer, curriculum/program designer, facilitator, lecturer, and university educator teaching advanced entrepreneurship courses, workshops and occasionally related Master's-level courses in innovation management and creativity at the Lang School of Business at the University of Guelph.

My political and feminist movement journey started at the age of 13. And have become more and more radical with time. How could I not.

 

I believe activist/politically motivated enterprise/commerce work can play an important role in supporting and diffusing the work /messages of important social movements at work in our time. I study, practice and teach radical feminist, post growth and alternative approaches to entrepreneurship and resourcing ventures because there is a growing need for it. Only 2-3% of women who apply receiving funding from venture capital. The start up ecosystem works to perpetuate capitalist dogma, not challenge it.

With this new project, I aim to earn a modest living (let's be transparent here) as a self-employed/own account freelancer/fractional strategic advisor/educator/experimenter/creator doing something that I love: Working to enliven, resource, connect and support feminist, creator and democratic socialist communities and projects in Toronto. I would love to see Toronto recognized as a feminist city. 

 

​​My research /writing interests are part of my work. My focus is on re-defining the feminist economy, decoding/encoding feminist entrepreneurship, exploring politics of refusal, digital rights, punk sci-fi literature, and exploring alternative economics projects globally. 

​

With this new pivot, I plan to prioritize and supporting unique, experimental ideas. And collaborating with others to make it happen.
